About the Festival

The Grainthorpe Festival of Arts is a three-day event held over the August Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday to Monday), running from 10am to 5pm each day. It takes place across three venues in the village: St Clement's Church, the Village Hall, and Tithe Farm Barn.

Typically featuring 45–60 artists and up to 30 crafters, the festival has been running since 1996. All proceeds support St Clement's Church and Grainthorpe village organisations. It is entirely volunteer-run.

How to Register

The same five-step process applies to both artists and crafters.

1
Read the Terms

Download and read the relevant Terms & Conditions — separate documents exist for artists and crafters. These cover acceptable work, commission arrangements, insurance requirements, and cancellation policy.

2
Submit Your Registration

Complete the online registration form for your role — artist or crafter. You'll be asked for contact details, a brief description or images of your work, your insurance details, and (for crafters) which days you wish to attend.

3
Receive Confirmation

We review all applications and aim to reply within three weeks. Acceptance is at the committee's discretion, with priority given to returning exhibitors and a preference for variety of medium. You will receive full practical details on acceptance.

4
Pay Your Fee

Bank transfer details will be included in your acceptance email. Payment must be received within 14 days to secure your place. Artists: £8 flat fee. Crafters: £8 per day attended. Places are not confirmed until payment clears.

5
The Festival Weekend

Artists deliver labelled, priced work to the designated drop-off point on the Thursday evening before the event. Crafters set up from 8:30am each day. Unsold work and stall contents are collected at close on Monday after 5pm. Sales proceeds are paid by bank transfer within two weeks.
